جِئْتَنَا نُوْرًا مُبِيْنًا

Shinning bright You came to us

تَغْرِسُ الإِيْمَانَ فِيْنَا

With a heart so full of love [You instill al-Īmān or faith in us]

أَحْرَصُ النَّاسِ عَلَيْنَا

And You showed that You're, the one who cares the most

أَقْرَبُ النَّاسِ إِلَيْنَا

And to us You've always been so close

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ تَقُوْلُ نَفْسِيْ إِلاَّ الحَبِيْب

Everyone will say, please save me, except al-Habib (The beloved)

أُمَّتِيْ.. أُمَّتِيْ.. يَقُوْلُهَا لَنَا يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ

Ummatī, Ummatī (My Nation, my nation), He will say to us on the Day of Judgement
أُمَّتِيْ.. أُمَّتِيْ.. يَقُوْلُهَا شَفَاعَةً أَنَا لَهَا، أَنَا لَهَا

Ummatī, Ummatī (My Nation, my nation), He will say as an intercession "I will do it, I will do it"

[to intercede to God on behalf on His nation]

عِشْتَ فِيْ الدُّنْيَا كَرِيْمًا

You have always sacrificed

صَابَرًا رَغْمَ البَلَايَا

Smiled with patience, through the hard times

عِشْتَ إِنْسَانًا رَحِيْمًا

All You did inspired, everyone You knew

لُطْفُكَ عَمَّ البَرَايَا

Always selfless, striving for the truth

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ تَقُوْلُ نَفْسِيْ إِلاَّ الحَبِيْب

Everyone will say, please save me, except al-Habib (The beloved)

Muhammad, I'd give my heart and soul for You

سَيِّدِيْ لَيْتَ عَيْنِيْ تَرَاكْ

Wish my eyes can see Your face, and be close to You,

رَاحَتِيْ هِيَ دَوْمًا فِيْ هُدَاكْ

Cause in Your guidance I find, peace of mind indeed

لَيْسَ يَشْفَعُ لَنَا سِوَاكْ

no one else on that day can intercede
